We created a new site for Pension Help America using Rails 1 back in early 2007. The site features a dynamic series of questions that are posed to visitors who are looking for help with their pensions. Based on the answers provided we search through a database of thousands of providers and suggest the ones most likely to offer the right kind of help. The site has been very well received in the community and has provided help for many seniors who would have otherwise had a difficult time navigating through the various different agencies involved.

Working in collaboration with partners, we conceived and built a solution consisting of wireless networked sensors built into powerstrips. The embedded microchips were able to relay energy usage data using standard web protocols to a data warehouse hosted in the cloud (Amazon EC2 services). A mobile HTML5 web application portal allowed for remote access to selected outlets and monitoring energy consumption by devices plugged into them. The power and energy data gathered from the outlet is displayed as a graph on this web page and also is sent to central database for storage and analysis to create an energy usage profile and consequently help to save money.

T-Sheets, a successful time tracking service provider, wanted to roll-out some more advanced mobile personnel (sales people, construction workers, maintenance crews, etc.). They had awesome (and very busy) JavaScript and PHP developers, but wanted to have their time tracking available in the "field" and include key platform integration such as location stamping for each time log entry. We were able to quickly build JME applications (in 2008) for the then ubiquitous (but tightly locked down by carriers) Java mobile technology, plus provide mobile applications for Blackberry and Android.

We supported the branding firm Protobrand, by being the content management system (CMS) development team for the website redesign work for Leerink Swann, healthcare-focused investment banking firm. We helped select the CMS that worked best with their existing .NET infrastructure and best met the marketing team’s needs. After selecting Umbraco for the job, we performed the customizations and integration work and integrated provided “snipped” static templates. We also facilitated the training and provided post-launch support services.

Seattle-based Fremont Forward LLC launched an online collaboration service at the dawn of the Ruby on Rails and cloud computing. This gave us our first exposure to working with Amazon suite of services (EC2, S3, and SQS) back in 2007. We brought in outside consultants to get us and the client quickly up to speed and banged out some great features for this collaborative, crowd-sourced, social website for collaborating musicians. We also helped develop the capability of scaling on demand for processor-intensive audio encoding tasks.
